An Election Discussion

 An Election Discussion

As privileged citizens (18+) of India every 5 years, we get an opportunity to elect leaders. whom we think could change the demographics of our nation, our state, our city, our constancy, our village, and our living.
Fortunately or unfortunately times of India (Not a paper)  is telling us there were no such leaders who could let their lives for people's services and liberation.

Since it's the election times where they(politicians) will do their job but we might not.
As the title suggests An election Discussion. Let us have a quality or dumb time to think and discussion about the elections which we gonna vote.

As a content platform GV content, We are coming up with our perception, silent and oppressed topic(we think so) to discuss the ongoing election. we have the following points to discuss on the election whose objective is to desire and aim to have a good governance.

1. What is the Point of bearing a flag of a party?
2. What are they Manifestos or big billion sales?
3. 5 years of politics or 5 years of governance?
4. Unless a timely development what has changed?
5. Yes or No for NOTA
6. Who benefited the elected candidate or voted voter?

1. What is the Point of bearing a Political party flag?

As per the constitution of India, Leaders (MLA or MP)  are representatives of people who present and discuss the problems and rights of people and establish a better standard of living.

Since we are in 2020's, where the majority people of India are leading a civilized lifestyle. An average family member in India has two professionals working and the next generations have the liberty to think of businesses and plans for higher education. in the era of digital India undergraduates are earning through social platforms.

Taking these into consideration we might not need leaders who could sacrifice their lives to bring any external freedom to us and fortunately, we are not witnessing those types of personalities anymore.

In this scenario what is the point of the youth of India bearing party flags, party scarfs, and having political rallies? What else we could get other than an adrenaline rush.

2. What are they Manifestos or Big Billion sales?

Manifesto Magic: The Illusionary Art of Promises

In the enchanted land of politics, manifestos are the sacred scrolls that outline a politician's grand vision for a better future. They promise the moon, the stars, and sometimes even a unicorn in every backyard. It's a mystical experience, much like reading a fantasy novel where dragons are replaced by infrastructure development plans.

Politicians, adorned in their finest rhetorical robes, present these manifestos with a flourish, as if unveiling a secret map to the Fountain of Eternal Prosperity. But beware, dear citizens, for the ink on these scrolls has a peculiar trait – it tends to vanish after the election, leaving behind only the faint scent of broken promises.

Big Billion Sales: When Politics Meets Black Friday Madness

Enter the era of political consumerism, where politicians have decided that policies are passé, and what voters really want are discounts, deals, and a limited-time offer on national pride. Forget about healthcare reform; how about a 'Buy One, Get One Free' deal on patriotism?

In this bold new world, political rallies resemble shopping festivals, complete with flashy banners and politicians playing the role of charismatic salespeople. Imagine a political debate turning into a QVC show, where candidates showcase their policies like shiny new gadgets, complete with a countdown clock urging you to vote NOW before the offer expires!

3. 5 years of politics or 5 years of governance?

As election season approaches, citizens find themselves standing at the crossroads, faced with a critical decision that will shape the trajectory of their nation: Do they cast their votes based on the politics of the past five years, or do they prioritize the governance record? Let's embark on a journey through the landscape of data to unravel the tale of these two distinct paths.

The Siren Song of Politics:

Politics, with its grand narratives, fiery speeches, and ideological battles, often takes center stage during election campaigns. In the past five years, political landscapes have shifted, alliances have been formed and dissolved, and promises have been made amidst the fervor of rallies and debates. But as citizens ponder the decision to vote based on political affiliations, it becomes imperative to scrutinize the substance behind the spectacle.

Analyzing the political narrative over the years can reveal the consistency, or lack thereof, in the promises made and the issues highlighted. Have the core concerns of the electorate been addressed, or have they been relegated to the sidelines in the pursuit of political gains? Data-driven insights into the evolution of political agendas provide a crucial lens through which voters can gauge the sincerity of their representatives.

The Weight of Governance:

On the flip side, governance stands as the silent force that shapes the everyday lives of citizens. From economic policies to healthcare, education, and infrastructure development, governance reflects the tangible impact of political decisions on the ground. Examining the data related to key governance indicators can offer citizens a clearer picture of the effectiveness of their elected leaders in translating promises into actions.

Economic growth rates, employment statistics, education and healthcare outcomes, and infrastructure development projects are among the metrics that voters can use to evaluate the success of governance over the past five years. Are the promises made during the political campaigns reflected in positive trends in these critical areas, or do they remain unfulfilled pledges?

4. Yes or No for NOTA

The "None of the Above" (NOTA) option in an election serves as a way for voters to express their dissatisfaction with all the candidates contesting in a particular race. While the importance of NOTA can vary depending on one's perspective, here are some reasons why it might be considered significant:

The "None of the Above" (NOTA) option in an election serves as a way for voters to express their dissatisfaction with all the candidates contesting in a particular race. While the importance of NOTA can vary depending on one's perspective, here are some reasons why it might be considered significant:

  1. Expression of Dissatisfaction:

    • NOTA provides voters with a formal means to register their discontent with the available candidates. It allows voters to participate in the electoral process even if they feel that none of the candidates are suitable or deserving of their vote.

  2. Democratic Expression:

    • In a democratic system, it is essential to respect and acknowledge the diverse opinions of the electorate. NOTA ensures that voters have a way to participate even when they are not satisfied with the choices presented to them.

  3. Feedback Mechanism:

    • The presence of NOTA can act as a feedback mechanism for political parties. If a significant number of voters choose NOTA, it sends a message to political parties that they need to present more credible and acceptable candidates in future elections.
However, it's important to note that the impact of NOTA can vary based on the electoral system, local context, and the specific rules governing its implementation. Some argue that the impact of NOTA is limited unless there are accompanying legal provisions that address what happens if NOTA receives the most votes in an election. In some jurisdictions, even if NOTA receives the highest number of votes, the candidate with the next highest votes is declared the winner.

Whether to support or oppose the option of "None of the Above" (NOTA) in an election is a subjective matter and depends on individual opinions. Some argue that NOTA provides voters with the choice to express their dissatisfaction with all candidates, while others believe it might not have a significant impact on the electoral process. It ultimately depends on your personal views on the importance and effectiveness of NOTA in the democratic system.
