When I was a child, I wonder how astronauts may feel in outer space and I have questions like how to feel zero gravity on earth, how did different planets have different gravities?,how did astronauts gets trained?..... As technology makes information at ease I had some practical answers. Thanks to Google ,NASA, science girl,...... who had answers before I ducked those questions.
Before looking into the question "how to feel zero gravity on earth". Let me acknowledge you the scientific data beyond those answers.
What is Zero gravity ?
It's actually some sort of mistake to use zero gravity term rather we can call it as micro-gravity. There is at least minor portion of gravity present at any position in space. Microgravity means the condition where humans & objects feels to be weightless. It is usually experienced by the astronauts, satellites, space station in outer space. It refers to the less sensation of the gravity that you are experiencing.
"The reason for the gravity in space". Let me refer you the solar system where all the planets are bound to sun's gravitational force, satellites of planets are respectively in bound to their planets gravitational force. That means gravity will be there all over the space but what makes the difference is that the magnitude of gravity.
For further interest I will take u to another question "how did different planets have different gravitational forces?". For that the science gives you the answer "the massive the planet, the more the gravity". So the earth has 9.8m/s² ,moon-1.62m/s², mars-3.7m/s², and Saturn and Jupiter has 10.4 and 24m/s². Try to wonder how will it be living on Jupiter with earths atmosphere. For Ur interest click here to get the list of surface gravities on different planets and sun.
Coming to the titled questions "How to feel zero gravity?" sorry it's actually micro gravity on earth." Actually there is no anti gravity room on earth. But we know "If there is a will, there is a way".
So to experience the zero gravity many countries like Canada, Ecuador, Europe, Russia, United States and even NASA also operating reduced gravity aircraft which reproduce gravity free condition.
One of those is "Zero- G" an aircraft Boeing 727-200 was modified to make aerobatic maneuvers which creates the weightlessness i.e less gravity. It was managed by zero gravity corporation and funded by NASA.
Before that let me share you an example. Take an empty water bottle and place a pen in it. Now throw it in a parabolic trajectory. When the bottle goes to the max height the acceleration becomes zero. Exactly at that position the pen in that bottle experiences the micro gravity.
In the same way the Zero-G was operated . The flight was taken in an aerobatic maneuver i.e in a parabolic maneuver. The experience of achieving weightlessness starts when the aircraft flying with an altitude of 24000 feet(7.4km). Then the pilot increases the angle of flight of aircraft to 45° and reaches an altitude of 32000 feet (9.7km) . During this phase the passengers will experience the 1.8 G and reaches the top of the parabolic arc. The zero gravity phase starts here . This zero gravity phase lasts for 20-30 seconds. After that, flight pulls out of the maneuver and moves down with an angle of 50°. There are 15 maneuvers operated in a course of one journey.

Can I have a ride in thaat " ZERO G ".......😁😜
ReplyDeleteYes, u can if u pay 5400+ dollars 😉
DeleteWow!!!. You just changed my perspective about gravity.
ReplyDeleteReally appreciable.
It's up to the science which changes our perspective
